What is the worst that can happen if your husband is booked on Domestic Violence charges and is an E-5 in the Navy.

The first answer is dead on. Nothing will happen for something being on the books (innocent until proven guilty). If you guys just had a spat and this is your sole source of income, you better get a lawyer and start undoing damage real fast. If he's a bad man and you're leaving him, then he's probably going lose his career. If he's an abuser, he certainly deserves it.

If he is convicted of a domestic violence charge, he will fall under the Lautenberg Amendment which basically says that anyone convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence can no longer possess or carry a weapon, even in their line of work. This means that he will be discharged from the Navy, no questions asked.

While the court case is pending nothing will happen. If found guilty and it involves jail time he will most likely be discharged with an OTH or BCD.
