Hey everyone.
I'm seriously considering joining the military. I'm not sure which branch yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be army. I took the ASVAB and scored a 72, but now I have to take a physical and personality test. The problem is is that I graduated from a tier 2 high school (counts as a GED) and I'm required to pass the personality test with flying colors, so to speak. I have an idea of what kind of test it is, like the ones they give you at job applications, so here is my question: Should I be PAINFULLY honest, almost to a fault? That way I'm not lying to the military and they know I'm not lying. Ex. If I'm really not a social person, should I tell them I'm not really a social person, or is that just a recipe for disaster? Or should I stretch the truth a bit? Let's say I answer a question that I know isn't true. In this case I'm not a really social person, but I answer on the test that I am, which is a lie. For example, Do you consider yourself a very outgoing person? A. Of course, I'm a very outgoing person (lie). Would that be a major no no, or would the military just want you to tell 'em what they want to hear.
1.) If any of you have taken the personality test, and have passed please share what you did. Were you honest, with good answers? Are you a really outgoing person, or did you just lie and say you were?
2.) Did you intentionally lie and put the optimal answers? For example, you're a quiet person and they ask if you're social and like to meet new people; did you answer that you were social, or were you honest and said you're a quiet person?
3.) What was it that you did when you PASSED the test? Did you stretch the truth, or did you answer completely honestly.
4.) And finally, A. Painfully honest to a fault(you're a lazy person in real life, and answer that you are). B. Answer some answers honestly, but don't completely lie on others. C. Put the optimal answers, the ones they want to hear.
So which is it?
-Thanks for your time, and answers will be very appreciated.
