yea its so bad that i've debated on getting out after almost 8 years so i dont have to deal with it!!!

I mean I could be out gettting smashed everynight and being stupid, but no I ride my motorcycle and love it and get harrassed about it more than the idiots that are drunk 24/7 or getting dui's!!!

then we have to go to manditory quarterly unit rides, where they lecture all the sportbike guys about what NOT to do...why are we always the bad guys!
 
They dont make the rides around here mandatory, but its probably coming. And shit I just hit 19 years 2 months ago, got promoted so will have to stick around for another 3 or 4. But it is what it is.
 
Yea, I guess it is what it is. I hate to say it though. But if you arent in a command that has a rider in its high leadership CO / SgtMaj then usually they are really biased towards riders.

My last unit my SgtMaj rode almst everyday and would sent emails about about rides, and weather updates so people wouldnt ride to work in shitty weather, I thought that was a very positive outlook on riding and looking after your troops.

no the coomand Im in atm, we have alot of riders, but the CO / SgtMaj dont ride so they are pretty harsh on us. My XO for awhile rode a GSXR1000 and raced so that helped but he left like a year ago...
 
The first air cavalry brigade, First Cavalry division we must go to a mandatory riding course every few years or anytime you return from a deployment. Provide the command with a copy of all our information (IE insurance /reg/pic and type of bike). We must stop and provide information every time you go on post so they know that it’s your bike you’re on and you are trained. Pass a written test. And get formally counseled about the dangers of motorcycles from our company commander and senior non commissioned officer and our battalion commander and battalion command sergeant major. Do periodic fifty point inspections on our rides. Plus we must wear a reflective vest , certified helmet, long pants and long sleeves and gloves at all times.


and oh yea the "fun rides" are mandatory
 
see thats what Im talking about, they make the sport of riding and turn it into something that makes me not even want to ride my bike to work. You have to have some serious passion for riding if you want to put up with all the stuff flightmedic said. its not that bad for us but they do want us to go thru the MSF course yearly, and lord forbid if you have an accident, b/c it will be 100% your fault b/c you were riding...
