Migraines - Light-Headed - Tingling Sensations

Hi there,

I went to a GP the other day after having episodes with sharp shooting pain behind my left eye on and off for about 10 days. I call them migraines - which GP seems to think so. However I'm also getting tingling sensations running down my right leg during/after migraine episode. These sharp shooting pains behind my left eye makes my face feel like it is filled with so much pressure behind my eyes and nose. The GP wanted me to get an MRI but also wanted me to go to a hospital. So I did that and was seen and consulted by two different physicians and they both seem to think I present signs of classic migraines. They seem to think my symptoms aren't too worrying although unusual form of migraine only last 10-20 minutes. These will come on without warning and up to 3 times a day. I tried taking pain relief but doesn't work and I had a reaction to codeine. My body (neck and shoulders mainly) is always tense/tight and I have been under a lot of stress lately, but it's no different to the stress I've faced for years. I'm concerned that I may have something a little more serious but just want to know if anyone else has shown signs/symptoms like I have.

Other symptoms include: feeling woozy/light headed. I'll sometimes feel like I'm in a daze and lose focus and concentration. I have a persistent cough although I used to have Asthma pretty bad as a child. I feel run down and tired.

I'm a 27 year old woman and really, I just want to know if anyone else has had something similar to ease my mind a little.

i suffered from migraines for over 20 years- i also had major tingling and loss of sensation usually a day or so before the actual headache started- often i would feel almost totally numb on the left side of my body (my headaches always started on the right side- moved to the middle of my head then to the left side then thankfully they were gone) - i too suffered from loss of concentration- my mind would wander and i could not hold a thought- i would often feel i was outside of my body looking at myself then i knew i was indeed getting a migraine- i also had dizziness and nausea and the pain! absolutely unrelenting- i tried every narcotic made- spent at least one night in the ER every other month and suffered endlessly- people don't understand unless they truly do have migraines then they know all of this is real - mine were all hormone related so once i took care of that they all but disappeared- i hope you find some answers- don't give up as there are lot's of precautionary measures you can take so they do not take over your life-
