Last year in 7th grade, my son received a failing grade in one of his classes and lost his eligibility to play football. That is certainly understandable and I fully support that. This year, 8th grade, my son is on the football team again. He has attended all the practices and participates to the fullest. His current grades are all passing, A's and B's. The coach is now telling my son that, he will have to sit out the first two games this season because of last years grades. I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind such a rule. My son was "punished" last year by being kicked off the team for poor grades. Why continue the punishment into the next school year when the poor behavior has already been corrected?
