A 33 year old white female complained to her gynecologist about itching sensation around her external genitalia and sharp pain on her vaginal labia. She had a similar episodes of pain for three times within the past 5 months. In all cases she developed reddened sore blisters that crusted and healed a while later. Upon physical the physician noticed several clusters of small blisters around the vagina, insignificant vaginal discharge and the urine looked clear and yellow in color. The analysis of urine showed a normal specific gravity. Neither of protein, sugar, RBC and WBC, bacteria were detected in urinalysis. The patient history showed that she was not married and was not sexually very active. She had been using contraceptives since about 3 years. She had 4 sexual partners over the past year and since then her symptoms had worsened.
