The Perseid meteor shower, which was to peak in the early morning hours on Sunday, has generated lots of interest across Michiana.
50 to 60 shooting stars per hour were possible, and the weather cooperated for fantastic watching.
If you're lucky, you may have seen a handful of meteors dart across the cosmos, but you had to be patient.
Many WSBT viewers spotted the big event in the sky.
Here are some of the Facebook posts from our friends:
Heather Tetzlaff Smith: "In St. Joe County, we saw 26 meteors and two amazing fireballs! It was all so amazing to watch the crescent moon and Venus rise!"
Rachel Szalewski: "I saw 14 of them."
Amanda Hapner: "It was such a beautiful night. We spent the night watching the AMAZING sky and fishing on the St. Joseph River in Elkhart. Great show!!"
Christine Reinbolt Wilson: "It was an amazing show! My neck is stiff from looking up but well worth it!"
Andrea Belokopitsky Medard: "Awesome!"
Jeremy Lowery: "I saw quite a few driving home from work and it's just awesome to see them."
Cassie and James Johnson: "Star City is really getting a show! I can say out of my 22 years, I've never seen so many shooting stars! I spent an hour-and-a-half watching this with my family! Pretty much amazing."
Denise Felhauer: "Saw 70, and 2 of those were fireballs in 3 hours in LaPorte. What a great show."
Martha Huebert: "I saw a bright red object moving across the western sky at 5 a.m. Noiseless, so not a plane. About the same size as one of the many stars still out. No shooting stars."

(Please send any photos you took of the Perseid. We would like to create a photo gallery of the meteor show in the sky. You may post them on our Facebook page or e-mail them to [email protected].)
