Celebrity scandal author and Scientology-infiltrator Ian Halperin is either on to the story of a lifetime or trying to shoot the moon, libel wise.
Halperin just wrote a biography of the singer. He tells In Touch that Jackson suffers from rare lung condition, "Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency," emphysema and gastrointenstinal bleeding. Also,
Halperin... claims that the “Thriller” and “Bad” singer can barely speak and is 95-percent blind in his left eye... Earlier this year, Jackson was photographed in a wheelchair. A few weeks ago, he was spotted receiving help walking, while wearing a Zorro style mask.

Jackson's been rumored frantically borrowing money to avoid growing broke, even promising an album to a sheik in Bahrain. An ability to speak or sing would obviously compound those woes — or maybe Jackson hopes the rumors might provide some relief from them.
