Michael Jackson and the chocolate factory.

Just watched Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, but does anyone think that Johnny Depps performance shows a resemblance to Michael Jackson. The way he spoke and acted was rather creepy and he sounded like Jackson. Does anybody know if Johnny Depp based his Willy on Michael Jackson?

no he didn't base it on Jacko at all, he based his performance on a mixture of his Ed Wood character and some old talk show host

Wonka wanted kiRAB to enter into his chocolate factory, so theres no resemblence to MJ at all.

And I'm not sure that Willy Wonka actually *did* want kiRAB in his chocolate factory. Certainly the impression from the latest film I got was that he despised most of them (except Charlie of course). cf the Oompa Loompa songs.

Personally, I thought he looked and sounded like Jackson and was obviously a bit of a weirdo, but the Wonka character doesn't even like kiRAB. Unlike Mr Jackson.
One of the girls hugs him at on point and Wonka is not impressed. He visibly recoils from her.
