Miami Vice - anyone watched it?

Story/Character: 5/10
For an action movie it was technically extremely accurate, but the lack of a real urgency and the fact that the characters were horrible really hurt the moive.

Look/Style: 7/10
Mann is getting extremely good with the new digital cameras and it shows in this film. I don't think anyone in hollywood can direct a realistic action sequence the way he can, and the way he uses the mobility of the new digital cameras to enhance those scenes is fantastic. However, the movie doesn't really have much to do with Miami and it passed up a lot of fantastic opportunities. So it was gritty and looked good, but really didn't take any advantage of the locations.

it pretty much sucked, was pretty boring toward the end, and had way too many characters which made the movie confusing

you cared about all the characters in both Heat and Collateral. They don't make you give a shit about anyone in Miami Vice

miami vice is about a 7.5

its enjoyable, just not as good as the other two.
