so if this is what you use to "put bread on the table" be professional and get out of here, this is an open forum "your mobile phones community & resources" i dont see anywhere where it says HOWARD UNIVERSITY or PROFESSIONAL COLLEGE OR INSTITUTE, if you're a professional be a professional and don't come out here to express your "put food in the table" idea. whatever i know i learned for free and will pass it on for free, but if someone never tried to find how to flash or unlocked a phone and want me to do it, then if i feel like charginf for my research hours i can do it, but if he is HF member i feel like i've to help them, that said, if anyone need the metroweb and mms service book just pm me and i'll send it out to you, im looking for the original metropcs bb services books to compare with the one i've. take care FAMILY. :buddies:
 
the reason the post was edited is because the guy was selling "hacked modems". This is a CRICKET PHONE forum and not a modem hacking/sales forum. Hacking modems can be considered illegal (no need for me to go into that).
 
Thanks fo the explanation. I thought you had edited out some of the Bryhe1's words but left others but now I understand that the passage there is your own. I have always believed that a post should be left intact for all to see but with the offending passages "whited out". That way forumites can witness the fairness(or lack thereof) of an edit.
 
Since I haven't been banned yet, and while the idea is still fresh, I'd like to comment on the notion of fairness as it regards anyone who undertakes to moderate a forum. In the first place, however humorous a certain motto or signature may be, it is unbecoming of a moderator to give the impression of brute force or aggressive use of authority, or be the "head-name-taker," or encourage snitching. Folks, would you like to live under a government that does these things? Simply because this is a forum I am no less offended by such naked tyranny. For me it is appalling to see such a mis-use of the term "moderater."

A moderater should "moderate," not threaten or brow-beat forumites. In any forum there will be disagreements and sometimes conflict, but as long as forumites observe written "rules of the road" they should be allowed to express their opinions without fear of being banned, and without being forced into some kind of non-existent "harmony," of the sort that they have in North Korea, or the land of Oz.

A moderator doesn't have to be seen to be effective, and he should not routinely post under the guise of a moderator. He should be more a "behind the scene" operator rather than a personality in the forum where he runs the risk of being commonly viewed as "throwing his weight" around. Avoiding this perception will insure respect for him from forumites. When his fairness and un-biased moderation is apparent, he will then deserve being addressed as the "Honorable moderater" as is the custom in all professionally managed fora. These things being said, I think I may have wasted valuable bandwith.
 
not that i need to explain myself... but those that need to view what was edited are able to do so. As a moderator, I cannot make it go away forever. thanks for the long passage though, made me feel good. I hope you have a real nice day and we see you around here more often.
 
For the record most of what I wrote was not concerning you. Nevertheless I don't understand how anyone can seriously claim to moderate a forum and has publicly taken sides with a clique of persons on the forum. In this case, an "I do this for a living" clique. Even if that person can't possibly be impartial(cos maybe he flashes for a living too?), the least he could do is not openly take sides about it, to the dismay of other forumites who "thought" they were full-fledged members of a community, only to find they have come to wow.HoFobigflashshop.com, where solutions are peddled, and new members are simply prospective customers, shark food as it were, who after they suffer much dissappointment, they hope, will finally buy a flash from one of them, the much over-rated "tyrants of HOFO." It's disgusting.

I don't mind people selling their intellectual property, but let them start an online store and quit masquerading themselves as an "open" forum which in reality is only a big fishing expedition. I think that if a moderater wants to express an opinion or take sides on an issue, he should do it with a handle that does not identify him as a moderater. To do otherwise is to be patently biased and antithetical to the idea of being a moderater. This why I believe fairness is lacking here because the system seems to be entrenched.

Case in point...I wrote a detailed and easy to follow tutorial on how to use the NV Items function page in QXDM 2.08. It took me an hour or so to write it and make sure it was clear and without error. I posted it and saw it posted. Then mysteriously it dissappeared without a trace. Could it be that my tutorial would have eliminated the need for new members to ask those elementary and "stupid" questions about basic flashing and parameter setting of their phones such that the trolling lines of the "pros" would be disturbed?

It's this sort of thing that makes me suspicious. I know I am new here but I am not new to expressing myself or understanding technical issues. These things ought to be laid bare. I write in other forums as well and I have yet to see these sorts of things in those "open" forums. The truth is that you have great talent here but it seems more like a store than a forum. Most of us are here because we refused to pay for what we could do ourselves. I for one do not wish to communicate with any professional flash shop owners.
 
i am sorry u feel I have taken sides, I in no way intended that to be the case. I help a lot on here and everyone knows this. I have even FREELY flashed a couple guys phones on here on more than one occasion, or even simply showed them how even knowing they are making a profit. I haven't sold one thing on hofo and have no intentions of doing so. I am in no clique and only here to help. If you need help with something TRULY on a personal level, I got you. I'm on here way too often and more than glad to help.
 
This is the post I was referring to as being one of taking sides. This makes you appear(I say, appear) to be biased against the other side. BTW, I don't understand why people join an open forum if the information they deseminate will steal food from their family.

Sir, I have read many of your posts, and am aware of the wonderful help you and others have freely given to forumites and I have an abiding respect for you. It is those I call the "Tyrants of HoFo" that I take issue with.
 
unfortunately due to today's economy a lot of people have resorted to making money from what used to be hobby. If flasher A is getting $50/flash in his market and all of a sudden flasher B comes in and does the same thing (maybe even flasher A's posted solution) for $25, flasher A is now in a slump. I didn't mean anything negative about my statement, but unfortunately have found myself in a similar situation I mention above. I apologize for getting this thread completely off topic as it was not my intentions. I do see your point and apologize. If you want to engage in this convo or need anything at all please PM me as I am here to help. Another mod, if you could, please split whats not related to the original topic.
 
I will do as you ask but not before apologizing to you for being unduly critical of you. I guess I was just flamed up by the comments of some of the tyrants around here and took it out on you. BTW in most of what I wrote I was criticizing the other Moderator not you. Upon calm reflection I see the need for this apology. Please accept. Now I do as you have asked.
 
Everything Works Except Mms. I Can See The Mms Message Come In But Cant Retrieve It, I Know The Service Books Are Correct, I Checked The Tls Settings And Made Sure Wap.metropcs.net Port 3128 Is There And Same Issue, What Am I Missing, Is There A Setting In Im Missing With Pst That I Didnt Change??
 
If you are going to post your Service Books on here, the legacy mode will not work. you have to use crackutil

1. Open up "CrackUtil"
2. Click on "File Manipulation - INTERMEDIATE"
3. Click on "Retrieve File Listing"
4. Scroll down until you see "net_rim_bb_browser_daemon"
5. Click "Remove File from Device"
6. Wait until your BB reboots...IF it doesn't...take the battery out and put it back in...it'll boot
7. After the BB reboots, open up Blackberry Desktop Manager
8. Click on "Backup and Restore"
9. Advanced
10. Scroll down in the right window pane until you see "Service Books ##" (which will be higher than normal)
11. Highlight, click the arrow pointing left (in the center)
12. File, save, name.ipd (Post this one)
14. Go back to CrackUtil
15. "Load File to Device"
16. Select "net_rim_bb_browser_daemon"
17...wait for BB to reboot....all done.
