AGAIN I fail to see what is the point of having this forum if people here act as if they are protecting a national treasure. What is the big deal if people have found a solution to a problem and they want to know how to do it. Some of you guys that claim to have found a solution here I :lolup: on other forums asking for service books from metro "to mess around with". And now they seem to have found the solution and now they are keeping hush about it and asking others to do the same? Then what the &^%$ is this "forum" for? As I put it "somewhere else" here is my opinion on the issue. Moderators, correct me if Im wrong. I'm new here and still learning.
Someone moderator locked a blackberry forum I had jst started which seemed to just startto get a good conversation going. Here is my response to it getting locked. and this is the link.

why did you lock the thread I started? I don't see nothing wrong with it? Flashing the BB's fully is a hot topic but there seems to be no central thread disscussing it. not with new developements anyway. All the threads are old ones before anyone figured out how to full flash. I believe I started a good conversation on the topic along with some good links to video for proof. Nobody was fighting or anything like that. I started it because there is an increased intrest in this topic. Why kill it so early? Do a search for this topic and you'll see for yourself that it's not so comprehensible. There's tidbits everywhere. This was beggining to fan out into somewhat of an intresting discussion. I see that you have already a BB fully flashed. Let the rest of use have our cake too! Or why does this forum exist anyway? The way some people here, specially the ones that have been here for a while treat us noobs is insane! I understand some of you guys put a lot of effort and work into developing solutions, but if at the end all you want is to sell the solutions or keep them to yurselfs, then I suggest maybe starting a for-profit forum. And just invite knowledgeable persons so you can all reap the benefits of your hard work.Then start ANOTHER forum to sel the solutions to us noobs. That way we noobs don't disturb your precious time with pleas for help to have a phone we like work with a carrier that's cheap. I mean, I am a member of some apple forums and crackberry forums and others and I have never been treated so like crap like i get treated here. From day one I got dissed from some random wit in here. Something about spoonfedding or other. Guys, if I knew all this stuff, I would not come asking. Or have prospective members take a test before they are allowed here. make sure all your members are pro's in flashing, so as to keep us noobs out in the dark. If you run a business and your livelihood depends on solutions that get developed here, and that is why your sensitivities are affected when we noobs need help, then why are you here? Should't you have all the legit tools and connections and training to flash? That is IF you are a pro that does this for a living. But I suspect not. Most are paper chasers learning and charging others from stuff they learn here. If that's you, who cares! But why do you act like you paid to have this infrastructure and only you are allowed to benefit from it? And again, don't come back with the old line, "well, we invest our time and effort" Again, then by al means start a private network where only you "pro's" have access to and where only you are allowed the solutions. Then you don't have to treat us noobs like second class citizens. And if you want to delete my profile by all means go ahead. I'll pay that as$ from scottsdale his 60.00$ bucks so I can finally enjoy my 8830 the way it was meant to be enjoyed. :lolup:

As already mentioned, we already have and i must say its a great place where we dont have to read meaningless ramblings such as these. Have a great day and be sure to take your IQ Booster Vitamins in the morning, yer stupidity is shineing through...
 
Apparently, it's a place for the elite few to collaborate by PM until they find a solution.
Than they keep quiet about it, and block others working on it.


Oh, and some of them then sell the solution on Mobile-Files.
 
To clutch, nobody asked you to "waste" 2 minutes of your time to read this. And you can google "capitalization" yourself.
To Steve, MRcricket, and Anderd if there already is a forum for only you "pros", then why are you still here? There are some very helpful members here but then there are others that seem to take this "cricket mafia" thing too seriously. Get a grip guys! All were asking for is a little help with our phones. No need to get your overinflated egos involved.
 
Aleks, I understand your frustration. I'm not sure if you have realized. But the majority of people here can take two routes. Helping and private projects. I myself have recently started taking both routes. That's right. Majority of my postings here are to answer peoples questions, even when it's the most frustrating questions. Even if people decide to post on here, it does not mean they have no right to do whatever they want with their own solved problems. You may not realize the reality but almost every solution on this forum was up for sale before being posted. IT'S THE TRUTH. and its very fair if you think about it. some people have created some very elaborate solutions and dealers/flashers just come on here not to help at all and just go make money of it.

Two solutions I have kept to myself currently are 800w and some advanced BB solutions.. why? because I share it initially and guess what happens, it's being sold. And now I have to deal and compete with that in my personal and work life. I'm very disappointed in this MAFIA stuff. but to each their own.

theres two things you can do, wait for it to be posted cause eventually it will (e.g. moto q, lg rumor, etc, etc) or pay a flasher.
 
I guess just suck it up and take some tackles and bruises if I wanna play ball in this field, huh? Some of you guys are just total aHole$. Some of you guys manage to get your point across, even when I or others don't like it. Except some of you are more civil than others in getting your point across. And I did mention in my post up there that I was unsure how correct I was on the issue, and I even offered the moderators to go ahead and correct me. But all I got is a $h&%load of negative responses from the "pros". I just have never been in a forum community that does things like this. I'm a longtime mac user and I frequent some Apple forums and communities and people there are always helpful and friendly. So I guess I expected too much of this forum. No hard feelings. just post a solution and call it a day...
 
I do get of the couch. I've ben working since I was 17. I have invested in software and a couple laptops and some gear. One thing is to give constructive feedback, like tony here, which manages to get his point across without being a total *ick. Another is to just make assumptions about someone you've never met based on a couple of paragraphs posted on a technology forum. So please, spare me the high-school cyber bully BS and just move on. One of the rules here is to respeKt other members, and based on my experience so far, this only applies to the so called "pros" that have been here a while. But apart from the drama, if anyone has anything CONSTRUCTIVE to add to the BB solution, by all means, contribute. If you have the solution but are only here to say, "no, no handouts!!", then don't even say anything, just move along. And seriously, calm the %^&# down. Here's something to break you guys away from the drama for a while and have a good laugh... no hard feelings. :buddies:

I agree with you guys; HoFo is gotta be the least user friendly forum on the net. Some of these dudes must think that being cyber a$$holes is cool. I bet that most of these so called pros are just posers. I've noticed that the people that actually know what they're talking about and are more or less educated don't need to start flame wars to get their point across.

Also I've noticed in this forum that you ask for help or a question about something specific and some of the "pros" just tell you "pay someone else to do it for you". What the hell is that? if anybody takes the time to go through 20 pages of BS drama; the least they could do is give that person a better answer; because at that point it would be pretty obvious that the person looking for an answer is determined to do the job himself.

I'm a noob here and I know there are a few veterans in here that are very knowledgeable; I respect those individuals but the rest of these posers just make me laugh.

Personally I believe the moderators should ban their useless a$$es, because even if you can't contribute a solution to the community at least learn from others and be RESPECTFUL; because everybody deserves respect even the noobs. I always thought that was the original purpose behind all these online forums.
