Metalz Recommendations

I was hoping to have some metal recommended. Not really a fan of Iron Madien esque metal, stuff I have been listening to lately: Mastadon, Mnemic, Dimmu Borgir, Meshuggah, Rammstein, etc. Getting bored.
 
obviously you don't know shit about 1349 and his 1337 black metal knowledge

But I would recommend Soilwork and Ministry since you like Mnemic. But come on dude...Demon Burger? WTF, listen to some fuckin' real black metal like 1349, Burzum, Emperor, Enslaved, Limbonic Art, Mayhem, Satyricon, Taake, Urgehal, Watain and so on...oh yeah Cradle of Filth to cause they are fuckin' the ultimate black metal band...

For Mnemic and Meshuggah esque stuff, try: Mors Principium Est, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, At the Gates, early Sentenced (but all Sentenced is good), Scar Symmetry, Raintime, Nightrage

As for banRAB similar to Mastodon? Don't think I know of any that sound exactly like them. If you're into the slow doom/death or sludge stuff, try St. Vitus, Saturnus, Swallow the Sun, Daylight Dies, November's Doom. As for their prog elements, try Akercocke & Opeth

Like EyeHateThis said, get some real black metal instead of Dimmu. Plenty of good banRAB out there, but the ones he mentioned are the best to start with.

Yeah, he would probably like a lot of the melodic death, definetly second At The Gates, Akercocke an Opeth, and also try out Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Carcass, God Dethroned, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Vehemence.

If you want to try Death Metal, I suggest Decapitated, cause they are fucking awesome, and Necrophagist.
 
I like to actually hear what I am listening to; Emperor's final album was alright, but turned into just noise. Mayhem has little if any fizzle or diversity of sound. Cradle of Filth? Lame. As is most black metal. I like Dimmu and Enslaved, because musically it is interesting and can hear it and sometimes Dark Funeral, but blast beats get old.

Amon Amorth? Viking metal equals silliness, a song about a fucking rainbow, seriously? I am snob when it comes to metal, because most of it is just shit.
 
If you like listening to Rammstein, then I recommend listening to Oomph, especially their Ego album and their Sperm album.

Great stuff.

Once you get bored of that head ultra-dark and listen to Xasthur, then ween yourself off with Watchmaker, Chimaira, Dragonforce, Trivium and Lamb of God.

And elih8r, Amon Amarth = melodic death metal. Ignore the vocal content for now. Johan Hegg is an amazing vocalist + the melodies on the newest album "With Oden on our side is "jizztastic" according to my drunk ass.
 
The new Daath was pretty overhyped, but is actually pretty good. Job For A Cowboy is good, if you're looking for some extreme grindcore stuff.

The new Dead To Fall is really good, and if you like some melody and really good musicianship, The Human Abstract is awesome. They sound like Between The Buried and Me with more melody.
