I have had Chevys my entire life and do not plan on getting anything but them. However, if they merge with Chrysler, will they discontinue Chevrolet? I really hope not. Does that mean GM engines will say "chrysler" on them? what will change?

No way that will happen. The GM name is too known. Chrysler is now owned by the Germans so I hope that does not happen either.

FIRST - Chrysler is not owned by the Germans. Daimler-Benz unloaded Chrysler onto a private USA owned holding company.

SECOND - Gm will continue on as before. Industry analysts speculate that GM will take on the best of Chrysler (JEEP and the minivans) and sell off the rest. Gm is not after Chrysler products so much as the monies that they can borrow against the Chrysler name using their pension plan as collateral. As for Chrysler employees, they will be screwed. GM won't care a wit about them. They will be out on the street.
