Mercury sable heat problems?

I have a 2000 Mercury Sable LS 3.0 V6. Had heat problems when I got the car a year ago, took to a shop to fix it and they flushed the heater core and the heat worked. Until now. It went out at the same time water pump messed up leaking anti-freeeze so I replaced that. No heat still. So me and my buddy just today flushed the heater core, but still no heat. I am wondering if anyone has ANY insight as to different things that it could be besides the heater core, ANYTHING, and price ranges if at all possible to fix, etc.. Anything that could help please??? ://
