a dentist stated that mercury is poisonous in liquid form, when put into your teeth its not liquid form. so dosent pose a risk.

have mercury fillings actually been banned in the UK and since when?
cos when i had mine done it was in the 90's.

also what test can you get to test for it? and where? (gp or hospital)

blood or urine test?

and IF you have had blood/urine tests generally for other things done would mercury poisoning show up in them generally?

thanks

No they're not banned. They're probably the best filling material; they hardly ever leak. Sure they don't look great but that's not really a concern for back teeth.

I would imagine a small amount of mercury is ingested every time you brush or eat & drink something hot but I wouldn't worry too much about it....
