I Own a 1999 Mercury cougar, i got the car back in 2001 and i have taken care of it very well since there were no problems with my car at all right now my mileage is at 106K because i go back and forth between Florida and new york constantly for work. The transmission is fine but around a week ago i started noticing that when i need to press the gas fast so i can pick up speed entering a highway i hear thumping noises under my car and it starts to shake a bit untill i let go of the gas and press it again, All i know this is called an Engine misfire if im not mistaken, I am wondering what can be causing this problem and what has to be changed does anyone have an idea.
