I would like to train to be a mental health nurse. I have been in treatment myself and have recovered. I am currently doing a home learning diploma in mental health but would like to go to uni or start in a job and train.
I have done some research and the nursing degree is 3 years which would mean i would be 30 when i finish. Does anyone know of any other courses in uni that i could take to either be a mental health nurse or help me get a job?
No job should discriminate you when having mental health issues. But I have checked with my former nurse (who herself had depression) and in fact my illness will benefit me as I can understand exactly what some patients are going through!
