This morning I was bending over to put on my son's jacket and immediately started howling in pain as I was immobilized by a sharp twinge out of nowhere, like a dagger in my lower back between the spine and SI joint. From then on I could only move by squatting and bending over and clutching my thighs or holding onto door jambs, furniture, etc. I tried a cane we have at home and found it was too painful to use! It's 20 or so hours later and I am still nearly immobilized- can barely get out of bed and am getting hopeless about being able to take care of son properly. Thankfully his dad is around a bit and I was able to get a helper to pick him up from daycare. (I dropped him off as sitting/driving was ok but i had to hunch over to walk him inside!!) The situation made me less functional as I spent most of the day lying in bed and got up a few times to go to the bathroom etc. By evening I literally had to crawl on the floor to get around which is still what I am doing.

Is it urgent to see a doctor, or is it the kind of thing that will probably pass in a few days? What could this be? My doc is busy and and not sure I could get there. I have few friends and know very few people here!!! Should I call the ambulance? It seems kind of stupid for that. My boyfriend just got a new job and can't take sick days yet!!?! Our son is just barely 2 years old and needs his mom!! I have one babysitter who is very busy but agreed to pick son up from daycare tomorrow, at least. That buys me a few hours in the daytime.

About pain, I took 3 Advil right afterwards and at 3 PM took an Aleve. Then 4 hours later took another Aleve at 7 PM. 2 Aleve seemed to make situation a little more tolerable but now at 3 AM, can I take another Aleve?? Also my stomach is bothering me.

Ideas for stomach support? I still have droopy stomach flesh from my pregnancy and tried wearing Spanx but the tightness overall hurt and besides, they were too tight, and I couldn't get them on properly without super pain, so I settled for leggings, but they are not supportive enough.
