Media outlets...do people from either side see most of them as from the opposition?

Ive noticed that plenty of folks on the left see all news outlets, except msnbc, as right wing. On the same note, all folks on the right wing see all news outlets, except fox, as on the far left.

Each side sees their one example as 'fair and balanced'. As a moderate, I can easily see that Fox is definitely right leaning and msnbc is definitely left leaning. No doubt about it. But the others, cnn, abc, cbs etc....they seem pretty moderate to me. ABC a little more to the right and CBS a little more to the left, but other than that, they seem even-keel.

Does anyone else think that hardliners from each side seem to think 'everyone is out to get them'?

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from a state university. We were TAUGHT to see the left-wing bias in the vast majority of media outlets, both broadcast and print, because they were teaching us the art of "gatekeeping" and how things that are omitted from a story are just as important as things that are left in.

Most of my professors didn't even bother to hide the fact that they were just left of Democrat, and that they would have gotten into a different business if they were any farther to the right. Even THEY had issues with the left-leaning news reporting they were seeing as far back as the mid-'80s.

The vast, overwhelming majority of items that are left out of news stories would put the right in a more positive light than it gets put in by today's media.

This is inarguable.
