Alright people I'm going to sit down and ask you to think logically about this one.

West Nile: 677 (US) (Annual)
Swine Flu: 3,587 (World Wide)
Bird Flu: 256 (US) (Annual)

Lately all the media has been talking about in the past few years are these three viruses, Now here's my question. Why, Why are people so worried about this? Why do people listen to the Media when all they did a year ago was report for a month how Britney Spears shaved her head. Why do people think what the Media report on is top news, they don't report on wars much anymore they don't report on world events not big ones anyway, they don't talk about the major issues like North Korea or the surprising number of Honey Bees just dying off, they report on this. Celebrities screwing up and smaller viruses.
The only time they report on major issues is if there's a missile launching within 300 miles of the US boarder. Now let me show you this then feel free to comment,
Swine Flu(H1N1): 3,587 (World Wide since September)
Influenza: between 250000 and 500000 (Annually)

Bird Flu(H5N1): 256 (2003 to 2007)
Pneumonia: 60000 (US) (Annual)

West Nile: 667 (US) (Annual)
Aids: 25,250,000 (from 1981 to 2007)

Now after looking at that instead of talking about world news do you really think the media should be focusing on these small little viruses that don't even make the charts on total death tolls. and do you really think seeing Britney Spears do something stupid is more important then tension between countries? please tell me. why do you people believe this and there are a estimated 203800 kids born Every Day do you honestly believe any of those diseases the medias been talking about for months now will make any difference to mankind? I'm so tired of seeing people believe this propaganda and bull.
The point I'm trying to stress why do people like to hide themselves from the facts and believe into small minor events that happen they like being scared of the swine flu or other small viruses instead of being scared of North Korea wanting to fight with America? I don't understand people at all

Big question and I my friend am in the same boat as you trying to fathom fact from fiction, I won't be a know it all I haven't got the foggiest.

In my opinion the average person uses media as entertainment not an source of information.

On the other hand, people won't buy news papers with North Korea pictures all over it. But they will buy pictures of people they recognize, who are doing incredibly stupid things. So it also has to do with money. Media isn't a news service its a huge money making industry.

The whole Swine Flu thing, I really don't buy into it. I'm not too worried about it. haha my sister had it. shes totally fine and not dead haha

in my opinion they do it for ratings those three disease's are simply ratings gold they don't care that their causing a panic when they blow thing's out of proportion as long as they make a dollar in the process.
