Med School Admissions Preparation Advice?

Hi, I am an uncoming junior studying biology. I am on a pre-med track, and have had the following classes: General Bio, Gen Chem 1&2, Genetics, Molecular Biolgy, and Cal 1&2
This upcoming semester, I am taking Phys 1, molecular bio lab, cellular neuroscience, and Organic chem I.
I have a GPA of 3.3 and go to Tulane.
My question is, what should I be doing to prepare for applying to medical school? This summer, I studied the biology section of the MCAT and feel pretty confident, making around a 12 or 13 when I took the practice tests. When should I be taking the MCAT? Should I wait until I'm done with Physics and Orgo (i.e. next summer)? When should I take the Kaplan prep course, next semester alongside physics 2 and orgo 2, or should I wait until I completely done with the classes? When exactly will I be sending off my applications for med school, and when will I start to hear back for interviews? Subsequently, asssuming I do well on my interview, when will I start to hear back regarding acceptance?
I know I sound clueless, and I apologize, but I would love to hear from a med student or graduate about their experiences. This is my life dream and I'm working really hard to make it happen!
