MECHANICS: Where is the fuel pump relay located in a 2000 Mazda Protege ES?

My mechanic is trouble shooting some issues with my car as far as electrical issues causing the computer system to not send a message for the fuel pump to send fuel to the engine, but we checked the fuel pump and tested it and it was fine so they believe it could be something with the fuel pump relay. The only problem is that they can't find it in the car. It isn't in the fuse box under the hood or in the fuse box in the interior of the car by the pedals and we're having a hard time finding a website schematic that shows where it may be located. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look in the car or any websites that may help?
I was there the entire time that my mechanic was doing all this as his helper and witness to these claims. Another mechanic there verified as well. And the first place he did look was under the hood in the fuse box, as I stated previously and it wasn't there. And the second thing he check was Chilton's Auto Repair manual online which I was also present for and it didn't show it. So, if either one of you bright young men can find it on the site that would be fantastic.
