The 9 N collar A can slide on a frictionless vertical rod and is attached as shown to a spring. The spring is unstretched when h = 12 cm. Knowing that the spring constant is 3 N/cm, determine the value of h for which the system is in equilibrium. Please note that at point A there is a frictionless/massless pulley and that the collar is located at B. Also note that the numerical answer is h = 16.81 cm.
