I purchased a '66 Mustang recently after having a local mechanic look at the car.
I specifically asked them several times about any rust problems that might be present on the car. I was told, "it has some rust in the usual places but nothing serious"
Well, after doing some work on the car I realized my floor pans are going to have to be replaced and it will cost me upwards of $1,300 at the body shop.
There are obvious fairly large holes in the floor pans due to rust.
Do I have any recourse against the mechanic that did the pre-purchase inspection....especially since I explicitly asked them about rust issues?
