Me again, asking humbly for the help and advice of any Harley Davidson owners?

Hello! You may have noticed I am asking lots of questions about HD, so I am sorry if I boring you. But I am a beginner after my first 'big' bike, so I am full of questions! I live in Bristol, England.

Many of you have suggested that instead of following my first choice and getting a brand new 883 Sportster, I look at the used market- this would mean that for the same money I could get a bigger HD for the same money, albeit a little older. My budget is £5000, but I could push it to £6000 if I have to.

I looked on Autotrader last night and came across this little number, fourth down on the list (1994 in silver and dark red):

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/bikes/HARLEY-DAVIDSON DYNA GLIDE/Ne-2-4-7-8-27-64-104-133-146-236,N-239-4294965942-4294966085/search.action

Is this the sort of thing that you'd recommend I'd be better off viewing? It certainly looks exactly like the sort of thing I am after but it seems too cheap!

Any help welcome, thanks!
I'm sorry, the link doesn't seem to work. It's advertised as a '1994 Dyna Glide FX 1340cc', and is £3600.
Thanks for your answers guys. I am not really concerned about what others think of me, I just value the advice of those who have been there before me. I have not ridden an HD but I have sat on a couple to fit them for size!

That is potentially a great price. I sold my 95 Superglide for $7500 (close to 4000 pounds) last year- and the guy felt like he stole it from me.

The other bonus you have with the 96 Dyna is that is the Evolution engine. You can wrench it. It's not all electrical. An old Evo can be worked to be faster than my 07 Deuce with an engine over 200 cc bigger without a great deal of money or effort.

I wish I could have kept it, but couldn't afford to keep both bikes.

Now, if that particular bike was geared like my bike was, it will be a beast to handle. Don't yank on that throttle or it will throw you!

OH- and stop apologizing for asking questions! It's better to be informed before making a major purchase like this than to go into it based on the WOW factor. "Wow! Listen to that! I want one."

By the way- I rode the Tail of the Dragon (look up Deal's Gap) with my Dyna and on my Deuce. My husband rides it every year with me on his Wide Glide. You can definitely take twisties on the bigger bikes. There were 23 bikes in our group this year- several of them were full dressers. You can take a twist on any bike- once you learn to ride it. Sure, it's easier on a lighter bike, but Sportsters have a higher center of gravity than did my Superglide or even my Deuce. The forward rake is what makes my bike tougher in a corner - not the weight. Remember- this is coming from a woman. I am sure I don't have the muscle strength you have, so you should be fine.

I know more than a few folks that would have done better to ask before they bought. They ended up with the wrong bikes.
