mcdonalds dinner and tips?

i just watched a show on the most interesting mcdonalds in the world and there was a mcdonalds diner where you go in and actually order from your table. but they said tipping the waiter is not allowed. why would that be?
 
i think i know what show you're talking about, but as for the tipping, i wouldn't know. It'll be interesting to find out why=]
