Hi there !
I have an 2006 RX8 GT, recently i have had a bad experience with my 8. I was drivign one day on teh highway, and I alwayd drive in a pretty fast fation, i wanted to make a exit and started to accelerate, for some reason i seemed to have no more acceleration ! the car was moving or accelerating at a snails pace ! then i started hearing some engine noise, like a tin can inside the engine. After i stopped at a friends house then decided to take out the car again a few hours later, nothing, it seemed like the problem was never there. But every day after that for 2 months the problem is still there, when i start driving and the car warms up after about 15 minutes, that's when the problem starts, i have tested it very early in teh morning, i got on the highway when no one is around and i start accelerating, when i get the problem, i slam my foot down on teh accelerator all the way, you can feel the car not going anywhere, then i get a burst of speed and zoom the car starking off again, but if i let the gas go, i fall back inot the problem. almost like a sticky or clogged intake or something, but i recently changed my air filter, spark plugs and wires and still the same issue. I have taken it to teh dealer twice and they say i have no problems, they are not getting any sensor issues. Also, while i start driving the car after 15 minutes my radiator light comes on and that is when my problem starts.... is there a link ? i don't think it's a compression problem as there are days when teh car is super smooth and i have all the acceleration in the world. I can't figure it out, read so many threads on the net about engine problems but mine does not sound the same, i just lose acceleration when my radiator light comes on and then slamming on the gas makes the car jerk for a bit then seems to start acceleratng quickly.... can you please tell me what you think about all this?
thanks

Sounds like an overheating problem, maybe sticky thermostat or not enough coolant (have you checked your radiator?).

I am not really familiar with those engines, but I know that they have oil injection. Is there oil in the oil tank? Lack of lubrication can make an engine overheat.
