I just purchased a 2004 Mazda RX-8 GT off of somebody. It had 67,000 miles and I put about 1,800 on it since. I have noticed that the car was having trouble starting and I researched it a little bit. I picked up a few hints but they did not really help. I know that you are supposed to let them heat up before turning them off, and i figured a 10 mile drive to work every day was enough. I figured wrong, for later that night it was about ~20 degrees outside and the car simply refused to start. I ended up draining the battery, and bought a new one today. But that did not help. All it wants to do is turn over and it will kick once or twice per 8-10 attempts (crank for 8 seconds wait 5-10seconds). It almost started once and died, now it refused to even kick. I am quite frustrated with my decision to buy this car. Even though I love the design, and the interior, and the performance, the starting issue makes me want to drive it off a cliff (but I can't start it.)
