I want to get me an RX-8 but im not too sure. You see i work pretty far from home and i drive at least 80 miles a day. I work dat far lol. And im worried because its a rotary engine. I dnt know if its reliable or anything. I dont wanna get it and it breaks tomorrow you know. So help does anybody have an rx-8 and drives alot every day. How has the car been for you?

I work in "car business" for 11 years so please believe me that RX8 is not a commute car.If you drive a lot go for Honda,Toyota or even Nissan.

I don't own one, but I had an R-100 coupe years ago and it had the Wankel rotary engine and that thing was awesome. It was dependable as any piston engine I have ever had. It just wasn't real good on gas and the one you are talking about is not going to be as good as the one I had. It's a bigger motor.

It is a fun car to drive. It is not a good commuter car. Your gas mileage is terrible. I average about 15 mpg. If you are traveling mostly freeway miles, then you can get close to 20 mpg. The car handles well and is made to carve up turns. The engine is reliable as long as you maintain it. You will need to check the oil every other time you fill up the tank. It uses about a half a quart every 1000 miles. I personally would not own it as my only car if I had the chance to do it again. But I do love it.
