thanx for any help you can give me at all or advise for the future i have had the car a week so thanx again in advance

This really has nothing to do with the road tax issue, but something that I was told again today by a Mazda service tech (been told this twice by 2 different dealerships) is that this engine is made to be raced, so "beat the hell out of it, it can take it". They are having all sorts of problems with the automatics because people are staying below 3000 RPM's. Since the engine sips oil it has a greater chance of clogging the carburetor and engine at lower RPM's. He told me he's replaced 5 engines in the last few months because of this. You shouldn't have bought this car to get great gas mileage. Try to stay around 4-7000 RPM to keep the engine clean.
