Im living in Nagano, Japan and I need some advice on my 1994 RX-7 FD3S. Since I bought it in January, it had some minor engine problems that gradually got bigger until recently it no longer starts. The cause was found to be mutiple oil leaks, the major one appearing to be an internal oil seal which may have led to flooding. Spark plugs base covered in black oil and gasoline. Verdict given from just a quick check from a few people, is that the engine is dead and I would need a new engine or to get this one overhauled. Both very expensive options. I have a loan on this car, with thousands still left to pay. The price for new engine or overhaul will cost thousands. For the same price as repair, I could get another used car that runs and is more reliable.
Should I sell it as is, hoping to get a grand or so out of it and get something else ? Or should I keep it and try to repair it ?
Maybe the problems arent as serious as they seem.
And advice appreciated
