Mazda Protege or Mitsubishi Lancer?

So I did my research on used cars and I'm trying to decide now between a 2003 Mazda Protege and a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer. If you could help me out in any way, like with suggestions/recommendations and why you suggest that car. Thanks in advance!

all though im an ameican muscle car guy, the lancer has a better fuel economy and production plan for better, innovative ways

and it beat the lambo in quarter mile and half mile race, with no chance of loss

so it has the speed 'potential' so you know its strong and long lasting, since your just a dialy highway/city driver, and fuel effiency, and '04s a good look

and they last longer, and maybe slightly cheaper than mazda
