I was told that the EGR valve needs replaced along with spark plugs, wires, and distributer. Its a 97 model with electric EGR valve. The symptom is my car does not accelerate. I can shift gear. I can rev the engine in park. When I drive around I can pres on the gass and nothing happens. The car will move but very slowly. I have cleaned the carbon out of the EGR and checked and cleaned the mass air flow sensor. Transmission fluid is good. he garage put the price for work at $1000 but get the feeling based on what car is doing its something else. I am getting several check engine codes (1. misfire spark plug 2. O2 sensor
