I have a mazda mx5 (V plate 1999) recently it has started to backfire at random occasions.
I have the slave cylinder changed about three weeks ago and this started about a week after, we changed the plugs this didn't help much so a mechanic suggested he change the HT cables, this was done and the car worked fine for about two days then it started up again.
It starts rough shakes a lot and wont go about about 20 mnh and that's if you can get it of the drive, however sometimes it starts up and it runs perfectly. I took the car to a garage where the car decided to behave so they wouldn't/couldn't tell me what it is, the Original mechanic is saying it has to the coil pack as it was misfiring originally of 1 and 4??
Any ideas on what this could be?? any suggestions on what to look for.. or do i go with the mechanic saying its the coil pack??
Its a lot of money to keep paying out when no one is sure on whats wrong with it.
