Hi, I just bought a 1994 Mazda Mx-3 with 127,000 miles on it, it has the 1.6l 4 cylinder on it, but when I was looking at the emblems on the back it says its a v6 and it is the gs model which features the v6, my question is would that mean that the engine had been changed before or did the original owners order the gs model but just with the smaller engine? any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

the 1.6 liter mx3 had a 4 cylinder engine, the 1.8l only came with a v6. so ya who ever sold u the car put v6 emblems on the back when it really has a inline 4 cylinder engine.

you can tell if the engine has been swapped just look at it, the most common engine swap for the mx3 gs was the same engine found in ford probe gt's which was a v6 engine

The Mazda MX-3 does come with 2 engine options.
It comes with the 4 cylinder engine and a 1.8L V6.
The smallest V6 in the world in a car.

It should have the V6 engine.
If you looked at the engine and saw that it says 1.6I with 4 cylinders, then it must have been changed.

Or it could be that the emblems were added on.
