mazda mpv 2005 heating system blowing cold air?

My Mazda MPV 2005's heating system is not blowing hot air anymore; when the thermostat knob is either on face or feet then you can feel warm air for a little while and then sometime it stays as it is and sometimes the warm air goes away on its own. When the knob is on windscreen then it only blows cold air. I would appreciate for any advice or suggestion.
