Had a family member rear end someone with a Miata, being low to the ground the crash avoided most of the bumper and went above, taking out the hood. Now there's a part that's damaged which I do not know the name of. On the MX5 which I think is around a 92 it rests in front of the radiator, a long metal piece that runs from side to side, and is actually where the Hood lock is mounted, would this be considered part of the frame or known by something else?

Also if you know anything about the part would it be best to put it back into a straight position myself or purchase a new one if it's available. If it's part of the frame I'm fairly sure neither of those two are an option.
