I turned my car on and I realized an extra noise coming from my engine bay. The noise did not sound kosher so I shut the car off, When I shut it off the engine, it continued to try and start (Similar to an old vehicle which is not receiving and gas). The engine was chugging but it does not start. The only way for me to get the car to stop is to remove the ground cable. The car is a 1999 Mazda Protege LX. Any help? I previously had trouble starting the car in cold weather.
