Mazda CD player stuck?

I have a 2004 Mazda 6, 6 cylinder, with a 6 disc CD changer. One of my friends changed discs and as the player was switching from disc 5 to 6, she felt the need to hit the rewind button. Upon doing so, the CD player got stuck and now it continually flashes 6, even when I'm listening to the radio. How can I fix this? I can't even see how to get the dash off to get to the CD player.
 
I would try holding down eject for a few seconds and see if that works. Unfortunately, the stock CD unit isn't something that can easily be taken apart (as least as far as I can tell).
