mazda 6s gas problem help please?

Hi, I wanted to ask a question about my gas tank, the manual says it has 18 us gallons but ever since I've bought the car new it has always filled up at around 12 gallons even when the light is on E. Is there something wrong with the car ? what could it be? should I take it to the dealer?

drive your car until the gas almost empty. then bring it to dealer. ask them to fill it up and you should gently pay for that.
Then, let's them check how many gallons come in your gas tank
if you fill up your car in the same gas station. maybe the display number of your gallons is wrong.
anyway, drive it to nearly dealer as soon as you can.

I don't like mazda much.
my friend is driving one and she's very disappointed about it. first one is always displayed the checking engine light.
then dealer had changed a new one for her.
but, It had the same problem like the last one.
