Mazda 626 vs. Nissan Altima?

i have had nissans and Mazda. but never an altima. Mazda has a lower resale value than the nissan, plus nissan gets better milage. nissan will also get you a v-6 3.5 liter but it is $2500 more. Nissan has better quality vehicles than mazda on the average.

I looking to purchase my first car and I came across these two cars. They have the same price, similar Km's(both around 200,000 k), and are both 1998. The Mazda is a v6 while the Nissan is a v4. So what do you think is the better car. And yes I'm going to test drive both soon. I just want to know from a technical standpoint, which is the better car/company. Thanks
 
You will not get a V6 in a 1998 Altima. The V6 was not an option until 2002. Drive both cars and see which one you like. Nissans have better reliability and the Altima gets better gas mileage. I used to own a 1993 Altima with 180,000 miles on it until i sold it to my brother. He still drives it and I now have a 2006 Altima 3.5SE.
 
i have a 2002 626 i'd say go for the mazda. nissan is tooooo regular you see it everywhere. at least here in the US. mada has some really cool features that you wont find on the nissan. its more fun to drive in the mazda.
