Mazda 626 transmission question!?

I have a 1998 Mazda 626 v6 that has a core pack and i want to know if i buy a trans from a v6 with a distributor cap will it make a difference in the installation. Can they be interchanged? Please give any other info that will be helpful!
 
From what I know about the GF4A-EL, it didn't change much from '93 to '02 (when it was finally retired); Mazda changed the ECMs in '98 when they went to distributorless ignition, but the GF was always computer-controlled and it's a lot easier to tweak firmware than to change a transmission with seven solenoids. I'm thinking it will probably swap with no problems.
