Mazda 626 "99 problems with clutch.. please help asap?

I went to start my car pushed the clutch down and it did not bounce back it just stayed down, I can switch gears only when the car is not on. The clutch has no pressure so I checked the dot 3 fluid and it was below the minimum line so I filled it to the max and left the lid off started the car and tried to pump the clutch to see if it would build pressure still wouldn't come up from the floor. What else can I try my brother said maybe the hose that carries the fluid to the clutch has a leak I checked under the car there's no fluid, somebody else mentioned the master slave cylinder, I'm not sure just want to know if I should take it to a mechanic or let my husband atempt to fix it.. Thank you
