So, I stumbled upon this dealer who had two great deals on cars. I'm in a dilemma of choosing either Mazda 6 or a Hyundai Sonata.

So first, they're both of the same price, $8,000 and both are 6 cylinder V6. Both also uses Timing Chains, which is great I think.

The Mazda6 is a 2006 Mazda6 s Sports Sedan Trim. It's Automatic and it has about 50,000 miles on it. The Mazda 6 has Traction Control.

KBB "Private Party Fair" = $10,130
Edmunds TMV "Clean Private Party" = $13,154

The Hyundai Sonata is a 2007 LTD XM Trim. It's Automatic as well and has about 51,000 miles on it. The Sonata has fog lights, warranty, and Sun Roof.

KBB "Private Party Fair" = $10,240
Edmunds TMV "Clean Private Party" = $12,157

So, they're both the same price and almost the same mileage. The Mazda is probably out of warranty though I'm not sure what Mazda's warranty policy is. But, the Mazda has traction control, which is important for me.

Then again, with Sonata, I'll get more for my money it seems. I'll get bigger interior room. But I think I'll get better gas mileage with Mazda, since Sonata's V6 is 3.3 L but Mazda6 is 3.0 L. It's not too much of a difference though.

What do you guys think?

Get the Mazda 6 most definitely. It's well built, has a great resale value, and (as you stated) it has traction control. The displacement is .3L difference, that's not that much and you'd hardly notice it.

Get the 6. The Sonata has very poor resale value; plus it lacks the performance of the 6. In regards to warranty, you have 9k miles left on the powertrain on the sonata because the hyundai warranty goes from 10 year/100000 to 5 years/60k when transferred to the 2nd owner. The 6 overall is much more fun to drive and a lot "cooler" of a car.
