Mazda 6 dosen't start and makes a fast ticking noise?

Make sure all the battery posts, cable, and connections are clean and tight. Charge the battery again, if it still clicks I'd replace the battery which is not taking a charge.
 
okey. i have a mazda 6, 2L Diesel (2005). I went on holiday for 2 weeks and left my mazda outside the house. It was working fine before i went however my battery was weak and i was advised to change it. I came back and tried starting it. When i did it started making a ticking noise and the engine would not start. I was told to have a battery change so i did, but the problem is still there. All the lights on the spedometer still turn on but the noise is still there and engine won't start. any ideas?
