Mazda 6 Car advice? gears?

I just got a mazda 6 2008 v4 2.3l. and i have noticed that by already 45mph its already in 5th gear i mean that's pretty bad right? any advice?

It's trying to save you some fuel. Nothing more complicated than that.

If you floor it, it will delay the upshift to a higher speed, but that also uses more fuel.
