My brother said that mazda is made by ford.
and that ford isnt the best dealership to go with.

either go with toyota, honda or volkswagen.

i've heard that ford vehicles end up breaking down and my grandma and uncle have a ford and theyre always taking them in cuz somethings always wrong with them.

is the mazda 3 a good car?
is it made by ford??

im debating on getting
that,
the nissan sentra or a jetta.

Mazda is owned by Ford, but usually the only parts in common are the platforms and suspension set-ups, etc. Mazda uses their own drivetrains in most of their vehicles, such as the Mazda3. I believe that particular car has gotten very good reviews and it's become sort of a cult favorite, much like the Volkswagen Jetta. As a VW enthusiast, I'm going to recommend the Jetta to you because it has the nicest interior and it's very fun to drive. You just can't beat the Germans at their own game. However, the maintenance is expensive and VW dealerships have a reputation for having crappy service (mine does anyway). New Jettas have "average" reliability, contrary to their infamous reliability problems of the past, but don't expect it to be as bullet-proof as a Toyota or Honda. Diesel Jettas are the best as far as reliability. They're easily capable of 500,000 miles if properly maintained.
Bottom line, if you're just looking for point A to B transportation, a Honda, Toyota, or Mazda will suffice (the Mazda is actually quite fun from what I hear). But if you want a car that's built for spirited driving, something that feels special to own, and you are willing to sacrifice a bit for maintenance costs; the Jetta will definitely win you over. All you have to do is get behind the wheel to feel its German amazingness.

Mazda and Ford share many underlying designs. Fords are much better now, they aren't your grandparents broken down old Fords anymore.

I believe Toyota, Honda and Volkswagen are overpriced, Mazda3 is a reasonable car at a better price. I like a Mazda3 better than a Sentra.

you think your grandparents fords were costly you have not seen anything till you take a toyota mazda or volkswagon shop[ around ask for warr, info how many miles and years get all the facts before you but

Yes ford owns mazda. I'm not too sure about the mazda 3 being a good car. My parents have owned fords all their life and never had a problem but the jettas are nice too.

thats not totally true ford has improved their motors and transmisssions since 2004 and toyota is ok but way overpriced i would recomend a 2005-2008 ford or any other japaneese car like hond nissan especially but not toyota toyota is way over priced belve me read the specs on toyotas
GOOD LUCK!!!

Don't get a Volkswagen. Period.

Ford owns about 34% of Mazda, and has a controlling interest. The Mazda3 is basically the same thing as a ford focus (international) and the Volvo S40. The Chassis development was carried out by Mazda and the suspension was designed by Ford. It's a very popular little car. Of the big three American auto manufacturers, Ford has turned itself around the quickest since the big crunch started 7 or so years ago.
