Mazda 3 Hatch - tiptronic (first time driver) in Toronto should I or not?

I am renting the following car on Monday, and I am used to fully automatic (just drive, parking etc)

I am now freaking out, I read the description and it seems really confusing.

I know there is a drive mode and manual mode, will I have to flick it every time to change the gear

or do I have a choice where I just put it in drive and not worry about gear shifting
