Mazda 3 2010 - 4 door?

Ok, im planning to put LEDs inside my car, on the front above leg room, but im not sure if i can connect it straight to the battery. Does anyone know if connecting LEDs straight to the battery may harm it? (i also want to use a switch for it). Also if i connecting the LEDs is harming the battery, where else i can connected? Fuse Box??
